MegaDojo.ie will take place on Saturday 2nd December in Limerick Institute of Technology and Maynooth University. This free event will bring 2,048 kids together between the two locations with various coding workshops taking place throughout the day along with a few festive surprises and giveaways. While all workshops are free, tickets must be booked in advance.
The first 750 registrants in each location will get one of these cool USB(2GB) wrist bands to save their projects to on the day.
We would be very grateful if you could help get the word out about this great free event, while the workshops are aimed at your beginners and kids who have not experienced CoderDojo before, the Hackathon, Scratchathon and showcase is for existing CoderDojo attendees.

‘Hackathon & Scratchathon’
We are calling on Ninjas from Irish Dojo’s to take part in two competitions taking place on the day. The ‘Hackathon’ (aged 12+) is a competition for teams of 3 kids who have some experience of Web Design, App Development or other coding skills. Teams will be given a challenge at the start of the day and must come up with a solution by the end of the day to build a program, app, game or website that addresses this problem
The ‘Scratchathon’ is a junior (7 to 12yrs) hackathon for teams of 2 kids who have experience using the Scratch programming tool. Teams will be given a theme and have to create a game or animation using Scratch based on the theme.
As well as the Cool prizes which will be announced over the week, each participant will get a cool t-shirt 🙂
We need your help to make MegaDojo a success!
In order to run this great event for the kids attending MegaDojo, we need volunteers like you with a wide variety of skills, non-technical or technical! The event is organised by a mostly volunteer team, and without your help we literally couldn’t run MegaDojo.
Volunteers also get one of the cool t-shirts pictured above!
